The Lincoln-Way Xplosion Basketball Club is the first of its kind competitive basketball program in the Lincoln-Way Community for both boys and girls. It is a non-profit organization and member of the Amateur Athletic Association.
How did the Lincoln-Way Xplosion Basketball Team develop?
Twelve years ago, we came to a realization that there was a void in our community in the area of needing a developmental boys and girls basketball program that would ultimately feed the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 basketball programs. We decided to start small and in February 2006 applied for an application to the Amateur Athletic Association to form the Lincoln-Way Xplosion Basketball Club as a 501(c) 3 tax exempt non-profit organization. Our application was accepted and we started with one sixth grade boys team at that time. As word got out into the community, interest in forming new teams under our organization had increased and we formed 4th through 8th grade boys and girls teams by November, 2006. Our Board of Directors have since had many productive meetings with members of the Administration at Lincoln-Way School District 210 along with conversations with the some of the high school basketball coaches. And it is with their support, that our first winter season was a complete success. Twelve years later, we just finished up another successful season with 20 teams from 3rd-8th grade, and over 200 boys and girls playing a game they love. We are motivated to continue to develop basketball players in the Lincoln Way School District.
